Juventus’ poor record without Ronaldo this season
Juventus face Atalanta without the injured Cristiano Ronaldo today, but the Old Lady won just two games out of six with the striker out of action this season.
“Cristiano was able to take part in the game due to a problem with his flexor. It was too risky for us to bring him to Bergamo,” Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo announced in his pre-match press conference yesterday.
“We hope he can recover for Wednesday.”
The Old Lady faced Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium yesterday
It kicked off at 14.00 GMT.
Ronaldo was not available for the seventh time this season, but the Old Lady have only won just two games without the Portuguese talisman this term.
The former Real Madrid man missed four games in October when he tested positive for COVID.
Juventus beat Dynamo Kyiv 2-0 away and lost 2-0 at home against Barcelona in the Champions League and picked up two 1-1 draws against Crotone and Hellas Verona in Serie A.
Ronaldo was rested against Benevento on November 28 when the Old Lady collected another 1-1 stalemate, and in a Coppa Italia tie against Serie B side SPAL in January, won 4-0 by the Bianconeri.
Ronaldo scored three goals in five games against Atalanta, but missed last season’s away fixture with a knee injury.
He scored the equaliser coming off the bench in his first game played in Bergamo in December 2018.
